The main way to get to Edmonton is by flying.

You could also arrive by bus from Calgary (3-5 hours depending on connection *after* getting to town from the airport) and in this may be worth your while if there is a cheaper flight there.

We are working on a conference deal with one or two local hotels.

For cheaper options there is a hostel within walking distance of campus.

We are also planning on offering couch surfing with local researchers and students.

Banff and Jasper in the Rockies are less than a day's drive away.
